“Over the past two weeks, our Cristo Rey Jesuit community have been participating in our annual Sophomore Conversations, which is a 30 minute, one-on-one chat between a sophomore and a member of the faculty, staff or administration that is a great opportunity for reflection.
On a typical pre-quarantine school day, the entire Cristo Rey community stops for five minutes to participate in the Examen, a prayerful reflection which allows us to reflect on our days and our interactions with others.
Our sophomores are almost halfway done with their Cristo Rey Jesuit career, and this conversation acts as a sort of Examen of the past two years— reflecting on where they’ve been and where they’d like to go over the next two years. It’s been exciting for me to hear about all the engaging conversations our community is having, despite having to have to do these conversations virtually.”
