Baltimore, MD, February 11, 2022– Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is excited to announce the 2022 Stand up for Students event, presented by Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company, that will be held Friday, April 8, 2022 at the American Visionary Arts Museum from 7:30- 11pm. This will be the first in-person event held since 2019 and features student stories, silent and live auctions, light fare, and a comedy show featuring headliner comedian Scott Long.
Cristo Rey Jesuit is pleased to welcome Chesapeake Employers Insurance as this event’s top sponsor. Chesapeake Employers Insurance, the largest writer of workers’ compensation insurance in Maryland, has been a dedicated supporter of the Cristo Rey Jesuit mission and students, contributing not only to fundraising events, but also supporting the Corporate Internship Program through Angel Sponsorships. “We are strong supporters of the CRJ mission and the work they do to provide students with a college-prep education and real-world job experience. It is an honor to support the students of Cristo Rey as they continue to change and strengthen their communities,” said Sharon Rowell, Chief Administration Officer at Chesapeake Employers Insurance.
Guests attending the event will be able to bid on a variety of auction packages, hear from current students as well as alumni about the positive impact that Cristo Rey has had in their lives, and engage in a comedy show from comic Scott Long. All proceeds raised from the Stand up for Students event will go directly to funding scholarship gap funding for incoming class of 2026. “Stand up for Students is our premiere annual fundraiser and we are extremely grateful to have the generous support of Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company as we resume our signature comedy fundraiser, Stand Up for Students, in-person. Their contribution allows us to continue to build upon our mission and provide our scholars with a challenging and faith-based educational experience, while preparing them for life in college and the workforce,” said Cristo Rey President, Dr. Bill Heiser.
