Cristo Rey Jesuit exists to transform lives. We are a Catholic, co-educational, college preparatory school, empowering students to succeed in college, work, and life. In partnership with the Maryland Province Jesuits, the Cristo Rey Network, and the Baltimore business community, our school embraces low-income families of religious, racial, and ethnic diversity. We nurture our students to be men and women in service to others through academic achievement, business experience, faith formation, and civic leadership.

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School was founded by the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 2007 to serve students from Baltimore City. Cristo Rey Jesuit is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland and DC Schools (AIMS) and utilizes a longer school day and year, academic assistance, and counseling to prepare students with a broad range of academic abilities for college. All students participate in the Corporate Internship Program through which they finance a significant portion of the cost of their education. Teams of four students job-share entry-level positions in businesses and non-profits throughout the Baltimore area. This unique model, developed at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago (est. 1996), is now in place at the 32 Cristo Rey high schools throughout the United States. To date, 100% of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School graduates in Baltimore have been accepted into college.

Maryland Province Jesuits
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is sponsored by the Maryland Province Jesuits. The Jesuits have been educators for more than 450 years, and have been engaged in education in Baltimore since 1852. Internationally recognized educators, the Jesuits sponsor 64 high schools and 28 college and universities in the United States.

At Cristo Rey Jesuit, the Province was one of the founders of the school, making a gift of $1.5 million to make the school possible for Baltimore City students and they continue to make generous contributions each year from the Carroll Fund. Moreover, the Province has donated services to our school. In fact, six Jesuits have given a total of 23 years of service to the school, putting all of their talents and skills to work for our important mission.
