Alicia Wilson, Senior VP of Impact Investments and Senior Legal Counsel to the Port Covington Development Team and the first African-American and woman to serve as the Chair of the CollegeBound Foundation, will address Cristo Rey Jesuit High School graduates at the school’s June 15 commencement. Cristo Rey Jesuit is a private school that partners with Baltimore City families from underserved neighborhoods to provide students with a college preparatory education and unique, four-year corporate work experience. One-hundred percent of the school’s graduates have applied and earned acceptance to two and four-year colleges.

In anticipation of her address, Wilson shared, “I hope to inspire the young people to leverage their education to help them pursue their dreams. I want to impress upon them the necessity to be lifelong learners.”
Wilson’s professional and civic leadership has propelled her to the forefront of local and national media attention, including as one of the Daily Record’s Top 50 Influential Marylanders (2019), the National Business Journal’s Top 50 Influencers under 40 (2018), WBFF Fox 45’s Champions of Courage (2017), and the Baltimore Sun’s 25 Women to Watch (2016). She serves on the boards of ten organizations including the CollegeBound Foundation, the Center for Urban Families, the University of Maryland Foundation, Associated Black Charities, the University of Maryland School of Law Board of Visitors, Baltimore Corps, Open Society Institute, the Walters Arts Museum, the National Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program, and the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

The Cristo Rey Jesuit High School graduation ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 15 at 10 a.m. at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore. Guests will include 76 graduates alongside their families, teachers, members of Cristo Rey’s Board of Trustees, and supporters of the school’s scholarship program. The school’s valedictorian, who has earned the highest grade-point average, and salutatorian, who has earned distinction as the best intern in the school’s hallmark corporate work program, will join Wilson in addressing the Class of 2019. Previous graduation speakers have included Wes Moore and Freeman Hrabowski III, among others.
